December 7 @ 19:00 – 21:00
Discover “Lamb”, the debut feature of Icelandic filmmaker Valdimar Jóhannsson, in avant premiere.
Starring a very expressive Noomi Rapace, coupled with an engaging Hilmir Snær Gudnason, Lamb tells a unique and provoking story about humans’ relationship to otherness, whether animal, nature or in-between, and tests our willingness – or lack thereof- to step outside the limits of our thoughts and self.
In beautiful Icelandic cinema lineage, “Lamb” is an expression of ecocinema, rendering nature as a main character in the story and inviting us to analyze our position within it, making us aware of its intelligence and power.
The poetic cinema style, echoing the slow cinema of Jóhannsson’s mentor and maestro Béla Tarr, allows for a beautiful nature that we too often forget to respect, despite it being always a step away, just outside the window.
