At an ultramodern hospital in Denmark, doctors are convinced that the place is haunted. Sleepwalker Karen seeks answers to the unresolved questions in order to save the hospital from doom. Sound asleep one night, Karen wanders into the darkness and inexplicably ends up in front of the hospital. The gate to the Kingdom is opening once more…
Lars von Trier is a Danish film director, whose films were known for their bleak worldview and controversial subject matter. He has a prolific and controversial career, spanning over four decades, several prices and 14 films among which Breaking The Waves (1996), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Dogville (2003), Melancholia (2011), Nymphomaniac (2013) and The House That Jack Built (2018).

Dans un hôpital ultramoderne du Danemark, des médecins sont convaincus que l’endroit est hanté. Karen, somnambule, cherche des réponses afin de sauver l’hôpital de la ruine. Une nuit, Karen s’endort et s’égare dans l’obscurité jusqu’à se retrouver inexplicablement devant l’hôpital. La porte du Royaume s’ouvre une fois de plus…
